I have been going to Grappa regularly since they opened 18 years ago. Excellent food, wine and friendly service makes Grappa feel like my home away from home. For my money, there is no place that is better. Consistency and great value is what it is all about. NO! I am not a shareholder.

Last night we went to Grappa for our 5th anniversary. It is often said that during Summerlicious, service is either lacking or suffers at restaurants. Nelson and the other waiters went above and beyond. So kind and attentive, it was the perfect ending for our special day. The food was great too. We will definitely come back!

We have been a loyal follower of Grappa since they first opened. David and Lucy were like family to us. Now Nelson who is at the helm is carrying on the tradition of fine food and excellent service. When we have introduced guests and friends to Grappa they have always raved and have become patrons as well.

I have lived on College St. for five years and have eaten at many of restaurants in the little Italy area. Grappa’s is hands down my favorite. The service is superb, the wine selection diverse, the portions perfect, and the food is always delicious. What more can I say, you haven’t experienced Toronto’s little Italy until you’ve made time for a dinner at Grappa’s!

Every New Years Eve I go with my sister and our husbands out for a dinner. We alternate each year choosing a restaurant and this year it was our turn. After searching high and low on the internet we came across Grappa and decided to give it a shot.

I went here for my anniversary with my boyfriend. The service was good, the staff was extremely attentive and friendly! The food was spectacular and delicious. Overall, this restaurant gave a very romantic vibe with the candle and music. I would love to come here again in the future!

I am a student working in the area and decided to attend many restaurants as a part of the Winterlicious program in the GTA in the winter. Out of the 4 restaurants we went to, Grappa was by far the best.
The service was amazing, the ambiance was phenomenal, and the food was outstanding! Thanks to the staff for such a great experience!

We went to Grappa for the first time tonight to celebrate our son’s girlfriend’s graduation from medical school. We were impressed by everything–from the courteous and professional team of servers to the delicious and ample dishes and the complimentary creme brulee. I am sure that we will choose Grappa again when we are looking for a restaurant that can offer quality, atmosphere and service!

My friends and I decided to try the restaurant solely based on the on-line reviews. I saw a picture on their menu page and I was INSTANTLY sold (it was the linguine capri). I had booked at the very last minute (the day before but I do not reccommend doing that) and Arthur (who didn’t really smile, but was still very couteous and gracious – even as I tried to make jokes with him – guess it didn’t work) and his amazing team were still able to aoccomodate my party of 5. The different kinds of bread were accompanied by a garlic, hummus-type spread that was awesome. We had a couple of blue shots courtesy of Nelson that tasted like blue freezies (and I am not a drinker), they were so sweet and delicious I could have easily downed 3 or 4 – they were THAT yummy! The portions were just right (although I must say, it was the first time ever I wasn’t able to finish my plate because of all the appetizers). The sauteed jumbo tiger shrimp appetizer…well..an absolute thing of beauty. They were MASSIVE and succulent – I even posted them on my Facebook page! Arthur, Nelson, and Edwardo were fantastic and even though I fully knew they were expecting another large party at 8pm (our reservation was for 6:15pm) and we were about 15 minutes late and our all party had not yet arrived), they were nice enough to present me with a birthday treat; THAT was what I truly appreciated. We had gone over our time but they still gave me a sweet treat! I highly reccommend Grappa Ristorante (and we had the best seat in the house!). It’s not very big, but its size did not detract from the great service and delicious food. I’ll definitely be back during the summer! The only thing I can do to demonstrate my deep appreciation is to reccommend it to others, so it is my hope I served them well too! You will not be disappointed.

We have been going to Grappa for almost a decade. We have been there on our own, with friends and with family. We have also hosted several family celebrations at Grappa – each time David, Nelson, Philip & Arthur have taken care of our every wish. The staff are very friendly and the food is fabulous. We have now moved out of town and are looking forward to our visit back to Toronto and coming home to Grappa!

We went here a few months back and always so eager to come back since then. One time we tried this more expensive restaurant beside our place also along College Street which have a lot of good reviews as well. After that I told my wife, we should have gone to Grappa instead. The food here is the best I tried so far. The staff are so friendly and accomodating! Two thumps up guys!

On August 9 three friends and I from the USA had dinner in Grappa. The restaurant was recommended to us by four local residents ;therefore, we knew it was going to be good. In fact, Grappa was superb! The quality of the food was outstanding, the wait staff’s attentiveness was exceptional. We felt comfortable and welcomed.

My husband and I fell upon Grappa by accident about 12 years ago, best accident we have ever had, it is our favorite restaurant and the food never stops to amaze us, it is constantly delious. We always are made to feel warm and welcomed not only by David & Lucy, but by all of their staff. It is what I call a true dining experience, welcoming, warm, cozy and scrumptious…………..thank you all!!

On the first Saturday night of Winterlicious 2012, my party of 4 decided to go to Grappa. None of us had ever been there before. What a felicitous decision!!
It was late and the restaurant was bustling, crowded and joyful. We were welcomed as though we were family…I have never been greeted by a maitre d’ with as much kindness as was shown to us that night…and, as I said, this was late on a Saturday night when the staff must have been a bit weary. All through dinner, the service was impeccable, and the food was served with such love. I never saw any member of the staff without a smile, and each was knowledgeable, competent and skillful. We were SO impressed…and I haven’t even mentioned THE FOOD!!
Even before the meal began, as the bread was brought to the table, we knew we were in for a delectable repast…and we were right. Everything was marvelous. We had quite a mix of dishes…the trout, lamb and cod were all done perfectly. The soup and dessert were delicious. Every detail was well looked after, and all our peccadilloes were treated as they were every day requests.
Four very happy people left the restaurant well after half past midnight, and still, the staff was patient, thoughtful and generous. This was a perfect evening. We could not have asked for a better experience.
